The Polish-American community is proud to present the second edition of the Polish Festival Seattle. This year’s program will feature performances on two stages with classical, folk, jazz, and contemporary music and dance as well as cultural workshops and demos – from cutout paper art to making pierogi or preparing traditional pickle soup. The kids can participate in fun activities including a scavenger hunt and making arts & crafts.

Presented this year once more will be the Folk Fashion Show with regionally inspired costumes from Poland. Merchandise booths will showcase Polish glass art, hand-crafted pottery, crystal, jewelry, and cutout paper art. The beer garden will be well stocked with a variety of imported Polish beer and food vendors will serve plenty of authentic Polish food. The day of festivities concludes in the evening with a participatory dance to live music in the Armory.

In addition there will be historical exhibits with memorabilia honoring Polish achievements and contributions especially in the Pacific Northwest. The local Polish-American community organizations will showcase the “Best of Poland” at their booths and provide information on travel to Poland for business and pleasure.

The Polish-American community of the Pacific Northwest, with a century long presence, has organized events at their cultural center in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. As in 2012, it is reaching beyond Capitol Hill and inviting all Seattleites to explore and enjoy Polish cultural traditions at the Seattle Center. Admission is free.

Polish Festival is organized by local Polish American community in collaboration with Seattle Center and produced by Polish Home Foundation (PHF), a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization. For more information please visit www.polishfestivalseattle.org  or write to PHF, 1714 18th Avenue Seattle, WA 98122.
