The Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association is preparing a post-Mission visit
to the Polish seaport cities of Gdynia, Sopot, and Gdansk May 21 - 24, 2005.
This post-mission visit will focus on regional economic development strategies and business opportunities in this dynamic part of Central Europe. In addition, delegation members will visit businesses or development projects in industries related to their own.
We will also tour the old City of Gdansk and visit spectacular Malbork Castle,
a Unesco World Heritage site. A draft of the itinerary
of this visit is attached to this announcement.
Our visit to Gdynia begins Saturday evening, May 21 and concludes Tuesday,
May 24. Mission participants would make the approximately one hour flight
on SAS from Copenhagen to Gdansk Saturday afternoon. Participants would return
to Seattle on SAS from Gdansk via Copenhagen on Wednesday, May 25.
The additional costs for Ireland Mission participants are approximately $350 in airfare and $735 for expenses in Gdynia. These expenses include four nights lodging at the 4 star rated Nadmorski Hotel, all meals, ground transportation, meeting materials, and tours of Gdansk and the Malbork Castle.
