SGSCA awards scholarships to Gdynia students

On Friday, November 26, 2021, the scholarship award took place with awards going to two outstanding students. The scholarship was established by the Seattle Gdynia Sister City Association, SGSCA, in cooperation with the Gdynia 3rd High School Alumni Association, SAGT. The scholarship was funded by Mr. Paul Dobosz in commemoration of Maciej Pawlicki, past participant and winner of the Gdynia Business Week (GBW) program – an ongoing project of Washington Business Week, SGSCA, and Education Department of Gdynia City Hall. The annual host of GBW is the 3rd High School in Gdynia, so SGSCA’s support of this school is of particular importance. Project classes were conducted by, among others, American business instructors from Washington State, including Mr. Paul Dobosz. The recipients of the scholarship were Zuzanna Ossowska (an excellent computer scientist, and medalist of many IT Olympiads, including the gold medal at the 1st European Girls’ IT Olympiad in Zurich) and Oliwer Wirkus (an outstanding expert in economics, and finalist of competitions and contests in economic sciences, as well as the winner of a silver medal at the 4th International Economic Olympiad in Latvia).  The parents of Maciej Pawlicki were present at the award ceremony.
