OLD BUSINESS
• Gdynia Business Week: Based on the success of Washington Business Week’s (WBW) student exchange, SGSCA created a similar program in Gdynia. The City of Gdynia sponsored students and instructors for a week-long course from 16-22 August.
o Special guest Steve Hyer was in attendance and shared his perspective of August’s program.
o Debra prepared a slide show to share with the group to highlight the week’s activities.
o Martha and Mike visited with the Polish Embassy in Washington, DC and shared the message of support they received.
o Janice will continue to work with the City of Gdynia and Washington Business Week for 2010 planning on this project
• Washington Business Week 2010: This is an annual event; students from Gdynia come to Seattle to attend Washington Business Week courses
o This program runs over the summer, but in the meantime we will need to begin thinking about arranging home-stays for students.
• Seattle Polish Film Festival 2010: The festival is tentatively scheduled to run from16-25 of April. The planning committee will begin meeting in October and will report back to SGSCA on a regular basis.
o Three SGSCA members attended the Gdynia Film Festival in Poland and will share their experiences with the group by the October meeting.
• Polish Bazaar: The Polish Home will host its semi-annual Bazaar on 7-8 November.
o SGSCA will prepare a volunteer sign-up sheet for our booth
NEW BUSINESS
• Ideas for community outreach and increased attendance were discussed.
• Reach out to Sister Cities International board to discuss future projects, including Gdynia Business Week.
